Every morning, I wake, and into the rush, I dive,
Seeing faces aplenty, acting alive.
Smiling, laughing, dancing through and around the day,
Or so it appears, everyone on constant replay,
For there’s that big elephant in the room we all keep at bay.
Try to point it out, but eyes turn away,
No one wants to speak, in this silent play.
Yet, I can’t ignore, it’s like a shout,
A silent danger, moving about.
Alone in this fight, heart racing with fear,
A truth so big, yet nobody wants to hear.
On my own, in a quiet strife,
Seeing the truth in the game of life.
Life’s ups and downs, in them, I’ve found,
A peace in solitude, where my thoughts are unbound.
The elephant will attack, and then everyone will see,
All will collapse, then rebuild, trustingly.
And that is my dear friends part of the process I learned to trust, to be,
I learned to understand, and love this cycle, so free.
Tough times come, but they also go,
After the darkest night, the sun’s glow.
So, I’ve learned to watch, to see the must,
In every sunset, and in every sunrise’s bust.
